Olympic champion Sun Yang of China won his first title in men's 200m freestyle at the 17th FINA World Championships on Tuesday.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China, according to Beijing's Culture Bureau.

北京市文化局表示，禁止加拿大歌星贾斯汀·比伯来华演出。

In a statement, the ministry said it was not appropriate to allow in entertainers who have engaged in "bad behaviour".

该部门在一份声明中称，不宜引进有不良行为的演艺人员。

"Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer," it added.

The statement was issued in response to a question recently submitted by a user of the bureau's website.

China has launched a plan to become a leader in the area of artificial intelligence, or AI, by 2030.

The plan, approved by the State Council, says production of AI-related technology should touch $US22 billion by 2020, rising to $US60 billion in 2025 and $US147 billion in 2030.
